BUSINESS TOURISM IN MADRID |
The City of Madrid is one of business tourists´ preferred capitals, given the exceptional offer of installations and infrastructures -which are modern, easy to access and equipped with all types of services- that can accommodate any type of international event.
Madrid is one of the ten most important cities in the world in terms of the staging of international fairs, conferences and events, according to data from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA); and the main destination for business tourism in Spain.
As well as the wide offer of exhibition sites and meeting places, the sector has also been invigorated with the availability of new hotel spaces, the improvement of the transport network and the significant cultural offer in Madrid. Furthermore, all the companies in the capital are aware of the importance of staging these events, since they help raise awareness about their activities and promote their image.
The City of Madrid has different institutions in charge of managing the buildings, devices and infrastructures that exist in the city to accommodate these events: the Madrid Convention Bureau; Madrid Espacios y Congresos (Madrid Spaces and Conferences); former Empresa Municipal Campo de las Naciones (responsible for the management of the Palacio Municipal de Congresos [Municipal Conference Hall], the Recinto Ferial de la Casa de Campo [Casa de Campo Exhibition Site], the Auditorio Juan Carlos I [Juan Carlos I Auditorium] and Madrid Arena) and Ifema.
